Description
Description
Steampipe's architecture is divided into three core sections: Steam, Pipe, and Reverberator. These sections work in harmony to give the synth its unique and highly expressive character with lush and organic overtones that offer exceptional depth and warmth. Optimized for use with wind MIDI controllers, Steampipe also pairs seamlessly with any standard MIDI keyboard. The synth comes loaded with a collection of expertly crafted presets to inspire creativity right out of the box.
Steam Section
- The Steam section can be compared to the lungs and mouth of a musician. The generator creates the flow of air or “steam”.
- The envelope in this section determines the force with which it is blown out. DC/noise is the noise you get when blowing out.
- DC/Noise on the Steampipe can also be replaced with an external audio source.
Pipe Section
- The Pipe section can be compared to a flute.
- Push (in feedback) bounces the steam like it does in a flute and generates the tone.
- The delay box subsection changes the flute’s tuning and shape.
Reverberator Section
- The Reverberator section adds space and ambience to the sound.
Physical Modeling with 32 Adjustable Parameters
- With 32 detailed controls over multiple physical modeling parameters, Steampipe is capable of generating very organic emulations of real instruments.
- It goes well beyond the conventional pitch and dynamic ranges they can produce—imagine how a flute or clarinet would sound in C1 or C7.
