Pro-Ject Automat A1.2 (Black)
Pro-Ject Automat A1.2 (Black)
Description
Description
The fully mechanical automation system is activated when the user presses start, automatically moving the tonearm to the lead-in groove of the record. Once playback begins, the automation system is entirely disengaged. Since the automation operates purely mechanically—requiring no additional electronics—it does not impact or degrade sound quality during playback.
Speed Control, Phono Preamp, and Cable
In true Pro-Ject style, the motor is electronically controlled, allowing the user to easily switch between 33 and 45 RPM with the press of a button. The integrated switchable phono preamp makes the A1.2 exceptionally versatile, enabling direct connection to any line input or use of a separate phono preamp. Additionally, the A1 comes with the Connect it E phono cable, a semi-balanced, low-capacitance cable with superior shielding.
Carbon Fibre Reinforced Headshell
The headshell has been entirely redesigned for the A1.2, crafted from carbon fibre reinforced polymer. This material ensures the headshell remains incredibly stable and rigid, while maintaining minimal weight. The polymer-carbon composite material also provides excellent internal damping of resonances, contributing to better sound quality.
Heavy Wooden Chassis and Aluminium Tonearm
The heavy wooden chassis has been designed to avoid hollow spaces wherever possible, which minimises unwanted resonances and isolates the A1.2 from external influences. The turntable features an ultra-light-mass 8.3" aluminium tonearm, which, in combination with the Pick it MM E cartridge, offers exceptional response and detail, particularly in terms of transients and microdynamics. With factory pre-adjusted tracking force and anti-skating, the A1.2 is ready to use right out of the box. Furthermore, the new die-cast aluminium platter replaces the previous stamped aluminium design, and is CNC-machined to ensure perfect playback. Silicon-damped feet effectively decouple the turntable from the surface it rests on, preventing interference and resonances for superior vinyl playback.
