Warm Audio WA-73EQ – Single-Channel British-Style Preamp with 3-Band EQ

The Warm Audio WA-73EQ brings the sound of classic British console preamps into a modern studio environment. With rich Class-A tone, up to 80 dB of gain and a fully featured inductor-based EQ, it’s designed for vocal tracking, instruments and creative shaping in both project and professional studios at Soundium.

Key Features

  • Up to 80 dB of gain: Drives low-output dynamic and ribbon microphones with ease while maintaining warmth and clarity.
  • Class-A transformer-balanced design: Custom Carnhill input and output transformers recreate the musical character of vintage British studio gear.
  • Inductor-based 3-band EQ: Low shelving at 35/60/110/220 Hz, mid peaking at 360/700/1.6k/3.2k/4.8k/7.2k Hz, and high shelving at 10/12/16 kHz.
  • Selectable high-pass filter: Choose between Off, 50, 80, 160 or 300 Hz to remove unwanted low frequencies before amplification.
  • Versatile inputs and routing: Includes mic input, line input, front-mounted instrument input and insert send/return loop.
  • Tone switch and impedance control: Adjusts transformer input impedance for added presence or smoother response depending on the microphone.

Customer Benefits

With its wide gain range, detailed EQ and flexible I/O, it works equally well for vocals, guitars, drums and keys.
