Elektron Digitakt II Ultimate Bundle – The Sampler, Its Outputs, Its Hub and Its Case

The Digitakt II is the Elektron drum machine and sampler most people build a setup around; this bundle adds the three things that setup ends up needing anyway. Outbox 8 gives the eight tracks their own outputs for a desk or outboard, the OH-7 Overhub keeps the Digitakt, the Outbox and everything else on one stable USB 3.0 hub, and the Analog Cases Pulse case gets the whole thing to the gig in one piece. Ordered together, priced as a set.

In This Setup

  • Elektron Digitakt II – 16-track drum machine and sampler with six sample machines and FM engine, 128-step sequencer with parameter locks, USB audio and MIDI.
  • Elektron Outbox 8 – eight configurable 1/4-inch outputs for audio or CV over a single USB-C connection.
  • Elektron OH-7 Overhub – 7-port USB 3.0 hub, class-compliant, angled housing for cable access.
  • Analog Cases Pulse Case – molded EVA hard shell cut for Digitakt, Digitone and Syntakt, with rubber carry handle.

Why This Combination

  • Individual outs unlock the mix: kick, snare and hats each on their own channel instead of one stereo pair.
  • One hub for the whole Elektron desk: seven SuperSpeed ports for machines, Outbox and a controller, bus-stable.
  • Gig-ready from day one: the Pulse case is form-fitted to the Digitakt II chassis.

Set price includes all four products.

Every track, its own output

Every track, its own output

The Digitakt II with the eight outputs, the hub and the case a sampler setup ends up needing anyway.

The Digitakt II is the machine most people build a hardware setup around, and it leaves the box through a single stereo pair. This set adds the Outbox 8, which gives eight assignable jacks for audio or CV, the OH-7 Overhub to keep the whole desk on one stable USB connection, and the Analog Cases Pulse Case for getting it to a gig in one piece. It suits producers who mix on a desk or in a DAW, and anyone running modular alongside a groovebox.

  • 16 audio tracks, 400 MB of sample memory
  • Eight assignable audio or CV outputs
  • Seven USB 3.0 ports on one host connection
  • Moulded EVA case with room for the PSU
  • Overbridge multitrack into a DAW
The sampler

Elektron Digitakt II

Sixteen audio tracks, 400 MB of sample memory and the Elektron sequencer, in a steel chassis the size of a sheet of A4. Six source machines cover one-shots, time-stretching, repitching, slicing and grid playback, and any track can be used as a MIDI track instead.

  • Sixteen audio tracks, stereo or mono, each usable as a MIDI track instead
  • 400 MB of sample memory and over 1,000 sample slots per project
  • Six source machines: Oneshot, Werp, Stretch, Repitch, Slice and Grid
  • 128-step sequencer with parameter locks, trig conditions and per-track pattern length
  • Class-compliant USB audio and Overbridge for multitrack recording into a DAW

The outputs

Elektron Outbox 8

Eight configurable 1/4 inch jacks over a single USB-C connection. Kick and bass go to their own desk channels, a hi-hat takes a hardware delay, and the rest stays on the main pair, with no bouncing of stems first.

  • Eight 1/4 inch impedance-balanced, DC-coupled jacks, each assignable to audio or CV
  • 48 kHz, 32-bit D/A converters
  • CV range of plus/minus 5 V with pitch V/Oct, pitch Hz/V, linear value, trig, gate and clock
  • Class-compliant over USB-C, so a computer, tablet or phone sees an eight-output interface with no drivers
  • 176 x 90 x 28 mm and 0.35 kg, bus-powered from USB-C

  • Class-compliant with macOS, Windows and Linux, no driver install
  • Angled housing keeps cables accessible on a crowded desk
  • Built for Overbridge-enabled machines

Setting it up

  1. Connect the Outbox 8 to the Digitakt II with the supplied USB-C to USB-B cable and power it from its own USB-C input.
  2. Open the Outbox 8 page on the Digitakt II and assign the eight jacks to audio, CV or a mix of both.
  3. Run the tracks you want separated into a mixing desk, outboard effects or a second interface; anything unassigned stays on the main pair.
  4. Plug the Digitakt II and the Outbox 8 into the OH-7 Overhub when you want Overbridge and the computer on the same connection.
  5. Pack the Digitakt II and its PSU-3c into the Pulse Case for travel.

Questions

Do I need the Outbox 8 to record into a computer?

No. The Digitakt II is already a class-compliant USB audio interface and Overbridge streams its tracks to a DAW. The Outbox 8 is for separating signals in the physical world: a mixing desk, outboard effects or a modular case.

Can I configure the Outbox 8 from the machine itself?

Yes. Digitakt I and II, Digitone I, II and Keys, Syntakt, Analog Rytm MKII, Analog Four MKII and the Analog Heat models set the outputs up in-device. The browser Web App is only needed for machines without that support.

Are the Outbox 8 outputs balanced?

They are impedance-balanced and DC-coupled, running 48 kHz 32-bit converters. Being DC-coupled is what lets the same jacks carry either audio or control voltage up to plus or minus 5 V.

Does the Outbox 8 record audio in?

No. It is outputs only, with no inputs and no preamps, so it adds routing rather than replacing a recording interface.

Can it drive a modular rack?

Yes. Each jack can send pitch as V/Oct or Hz/V, gate, trig, linear value or clock at plus or minus 5 V, so the machine or a DAW sequences Eurorack without a separate MIDI-to-CV module.

Why a powered hub instead of the ports on a laptop?

Overbridge machines and the Outbox 8 each want their own stable connection. The OH-7 turns one host port into seven USB 3.0 ports at up to 5 Gbit/s, so the desk grows without unplugging anything.

Does the case take the power supply too?

Yes. The Pulse Case is cut to the Digitakt, Digitone and Syntakt chassis and has a storage pocket for the PSU-3c and cables.

How much sampling time does the Digitakt II hold?

400 MB of sample memory, over 1,000 sample slots and up to 30 minutes of stereo samples per project, recorded at 24-bit 48 kHz.
